It is dusk, getting dark. Night falls and the citys lights are turned on. Myself as well as two assistants are travelling by car, one is driving the other is sitting in the passenger seat operating a video-camera. I am sitting in the back with a photo-camera. As soon as we encounter a traffic light with a hidden flash light we wait until is red and accelerate. Now everything is happening very quickly. I am attempting to flash the traffic camera's flash from the rear seat of the car with the flash of my motor-driven Nikon camera, while the person in the passenger seat videos us going through the red light. The driver needs to stay calm and collected. It is like a mini version of Bonnie & Clyde in traffic. Once we are being flashed we shoot back. This is the buzz, while overstepping the rules suffering the anxiety of being found out.
The videos are made into a film along with a selection of stills. The main aim though are the photos which are turned into large scale images. In this way a series of very atmospheric and romantic images of the city is produced in the end.
